Welcome to the McCormick House Inn, where you'll find quiet, relaxing rooms and suites in beautiful Hayward, Wisconsin.
About the Inn
The McCormick House Inn is a carefully restored Victorian mansion located in the heart of historic Hayward, Wisconsin. Our inn has four spacious rooms and suites, tastefully furnished, and perfect for a weekend escape or romantic getaway.
Your stay with us also includes a complimentary glass of wine, made to order breakfast, and access to fully stocked complimentary drinks.
If you're interested in exploring the Hayward area, the McCormick House Inn is just a short distance from many of Hayward's most popular attractions. We're walking distance from Shue's Pond (it's across the street) and Hayward's historic Main Street.
At McCormick House Inn, we offer four unique rooms for you to choose from. Rooms have queen beds, the Hayward Suite has a King, and all rooms have an en-suite private bath with spa amenities.
Each of our rooms has at least 175 square feet of space, and each has open views of the west or the east side of our inn. Rooms are tastefully furnished in timeless designs. Original artwork is included in all rooms. Our larger suite has a bit more space and different views of the property than do our standard rooms.

Hayward and the surrounding areas offer a variety of outdoor activities for you to enjoy. For one thing, Hayward is a great place to fish, especially for muskie, walleye, northern pike, and smallmouth bass. The area has numerous well-known lakes, such as Hayward Lake, Chippewa Flowage, Lac Courte Oreilles, and Grindstone Lake. You'll also find "quiet" lakes in the area, where water sports (jet skiing, waterskiing, etc.) are prohibited, and the fishing is fantastic.
Interested in snowmobiling? Sawyer County, where Hayward is located, is considered a snowmobile rider's paradise. Sawyer County has over 600 miles of world-class groomed trails, some of which extend into nearby Chequamegon National Forest. And, because snow tends to stick around in northwestern Wisconsin, our snowmobile season can run from December well into March.
And don't forget ATVing. ATV trails run throughout the Hayward area. Close to 100 miles of ATV trails are available for winter use, and around 80 miles are available for summer use.
Hayward is known for a number of world-class events. Three of our favorites are the Musky Festival, the Lumberjack World Championships, and the Slumberland American Birkebeiner cross-country ski event.
The Musky Festival is a family-oriented weekend event that includes a carnival, an arts-and-crafts show, live music and street dances. And, of course, there's a catch-and-release fishing contest. The festival ends with a number of running events and a Grand Parade through downtown Hayward.
The Lumberjack World Championships pit the world's best lumberjacks against each other in a number of competitions. Events include speed pole climbing, log rolling, chopping, sawing and axe throwing. There's also a 5K run associated with the event.
The Slumberland American Birkebeiner is North America's largest cross-country ski marathon. This 50K race is appropriate for classic skiers and skate skiers. The route starts in Cable, Wisconsin, runs along the Birkie Trail and across Lake Hayward, and finishes on Hayward's Main Street.
